Kiwi Journals, Home of the Awesome Inc range
Hey all, it's Sarah.
As I sit here, watching the cursor blink (mockingly, I might add), it occurs to me that I need to just get on with this and write. Anything. I’ve started and deleted this 5 times already and my list of to-do’s grows no shorter, although my time in which to complete them does.
Making announcements, personal or otherwise, has always been a little difficult for me. I’m prone to perfection before releasing anything, not to mention I often guard most of my life behind a wall of concrete, barbed wire, electric fence, sensory deprivation, and the armor of my ancestors – avoidance and passive aggression.
All that said, this news is kinda cool. If you’re reading this, you’ve been getting messages, and hopefully wellbeing tools, from Awesome Inc. You may know Hunter and I took the reins of Awesome Inc late 2025 and over the past 6-months we’ve been observing and tinkering. Part of that handover included lots of paperwork and legal necessities including updating the company name, Kiwi Journals Limited, while continuing to trade as Awesome Inc.
Now that we’ve had time to get our feet wet and map out the future, it feels like the new fiscal year is as good a time as any to make a switch. (Drum roll) So, without further ado, I’d like to announce that:
We are now Kiwi Journals! 🎉
What changes, you ask?
Right now, not much. We stand behind the vision of offering guided gratitude journals for children, teens, adults and families. We support building a practice around resilience, self-awareness, and emotional literacy. Our vision largely remains the same as it’s been since the original company’s founding. New Name, Same Vision.
So, why bother changing anything?
Honestly, this is part paperwork and part personal preference. We like Awesome Inc. It has a fun vibe, it’s established, and it works well for the youth products. Plus, we say “Awesome!” all the time. Some might say, too much. But that’s actually part of the issue. From a global perspective, Awesome Inc is harder to manage. There are quite a lot of people who had a similar naming convention with the word “awesome.” This matters because we trade in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. We needed to make updates for work on a larger scale so we can increase the understanding of what our company does, with a unique name.
Ok, ok. Everything stays the same, then. Just a new name. Got it.
Well, no. Here’s the part where I get into some cool stuff, way late into the game when people might be tired of reading. Our plan moving forward is to re-allocate the name Awesome Inc as the identifier for our youth line of products. This is the Awesome Ends in Me journal, the kids mini journals, the Emotional Warriors card set and Feelings notepad, the teen journals, and bundles that are meant for families. This will all be under our Awesome Inc Range and though there’ll be some adjustments, will maintain the visual theme and general line-up of products.
Where we plan to make broader changes is everywhere else. In bringing our other products out from the Awesome Inc brand and into our general Kiwi Journals line, we want to update the visuals, some of the content, and add entirely new tools. We’re experimenting with adding more elements of nature, and looking at ways to make things super readable. We also hope to increase our level of discourse and create a stronger community.
It’s not always clear to see how something so personal as a journal practice can be explored in an open setting but we think there are ways to talk about our experiences and learn from others. And trust me, being vulnerable doesn’t necessarily come naturally.
Some of the ways we’re looking to bring about this growth are through blogs or newsletters, revamped social media outreach, podcasts, and video content. It’s all a work in progress, but we’re looking forward to building something special that centers around the ways we can help each other in this mindful wellness space. There are so many things we’re all dealing with at the same time and I think we can maybe help one another or at the very least, be supportive.
Wow! Now I have so many questions!
You and me both, pal. I know I literally just said I want to increase conversation but, I’m capping the questions here. Only because we’ve got some ground to cover before we make our next stop, if you know what I mean. There’s so much happening behind the scenes and as soon as there are more concrete developments, we’ll fill you in. We’re still in the phase of updating names, logos, email addresses, etc.
We also hope we can be more engaged with your thoughts on our ideas so we can really create with you in mind. More on that later but, feel free to share any ideas you’d like us to think about adding.
For now, we’ll sign off. Thanks for being here and following along on this journey. We’re incredibly excited to bring more mindfulness as we move forward as Kiwi Journals.
All the best!
Sarah
